Testosterone Pellet Therapy: Hassle Free Solution for Men and Women

Testosterone Therapy is very common in our society, and it is big business.  By 2017 "Low T" is projected to reach over $5 Billion.  Dr. Rucker has had tremendous success with treating our patients with testosterone therapy.  Many of our patients are extremely happy with the results, but some of our patients do not like the inconvenience of having to self-inject themselves every week.  What is another viable option? Over the past four months Dr. Rucker has been treating both male and female patients with Testosterone Pellet Therapy.

Testosterone Pellet Therapy
Testosterone Pellets are made up of hormones (i.e. testosterone) that are pressed or fused into very small solid cylinders.  These pellets are larger than a grain of rice and smaller than a 'Tic Tac'.  In the United States, the majority of pellets are made by compounding pharmacists and delivered in sterile packaging.

Pellets deliver consistent, healthy levels of hormones for 3-4 months in women and 4-5 months in men. The pellets do not need to be removed, they completely dissolve on their own.  Pellets avoid the fluctuations, or ups and downs, of hormone levels seen with every other method of delivery.  This is important for optimal health and disease prevention.  Pellets do not increase the risk of blood clots like conventional or synthetic hormone replacement therapy.

Testosterone levels begin to decline in men beginning in their early 30's.  Most men maintain adequate levels of testosterone into their mid 40's with some into their late 60's.  Men should be tested when they begin to show signs of testosterone deficiency.  Even men in their 30's can be testosterone deficient and show signs of bone loss, fatigue, depression, erectile dysfunction, difficulty sleeping, and mental decline.  Most men need to be tested around 50 years of age.  It is never too late to benefit from hormone therapy.  In addition, as men age and their testosterone level declines, estrogen levels may increase.

Men and women need adequate levels of testosterone for optimal mental and physical health, and for the prevention of chronic illnesses like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease, which are associated with low testosterone levels.  The insertion of pellets is a simple, relatively painless procedure done under local anesthesia.  The pellets are usually inserted in the "love handle" or upper buttock through a small incision, which is then closed with a skin tape.  The experience of the health care professional matters a great deal, not only in placing the pellets, but also in determining the correct dosage of hormones to be used.  The patient will be monitored and levels will be checked on an ongoing basis to make sure the patient is getting the proper dosage.

Some patients begin to 'feel better' within 24-48 hours while others may take a week or two to notice a difference.  Diet and lifestyle, along with hormone balance are critical for optimal health.  Stress is a major contributor to hormone imbalance and illness.  Side effects and adverse drug events from prescription medications can interfere with beneficial effects of the testosterone implant.

Dr. Rucker inserting Testosterone Pellets in a patient
Why have most patients not hear about Testosterone Pellet Therapy?  Pellets are not patented and have not been marketed in the United States for financial reasons.  Pellets are frequently used in Europe and Australia where pharmaceutical companies produce pellets.  Most of the research on pellets is out of Europe and Australia.  Pellets were frequently used in the United States from about 1940 through the late 70's when oral patented estrogens were marketed to the public.

Some insurance companies cover the cost of the pellets, others do not.  Each insurance and specific policy benefit is different.  We suggest each patient check with their respective insurance company for coverage prior to making an appointment.

Some of the benefits of Testosterone Pellet Therapy:
  • Increase in muscle mass, strength, and tone
  • Increase in libido
  • Increase in energy
  • Improved mental function
  • Improvement in mood
  • Improvement in sleep
  • Decreased body fat
  • Lowers LDL Cholesterol
  • Protection against coronary & heart disease

RejuvenateYou PRP Facial, More Youthful Appearance

One of our newest services we have added is the PRP Facial, which is commonly known as the "Vampire Facial" (coined by Charles Runels).  The PRP Facial gained popularity because of Kim Kardashian.  Everyone wants to know what are the benefits and differences the PRP Facial and Botox.

Patient's blood being drawn
PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma, and this procedure harnesses the platelets and growth factors from your own blood to stimulate a cell response.  These stem cells help you grow new collagen and blood vessels, repair and regenerate damaged skin, and help slow or reverse the signs of aging.  As we age most people notice the following signs:
  • Crow's Feet
  • Lip and Frown Lines
  • Deep depressions around nose and mouth
  • Volume loss in cheeks
  • Sagging around the jaw line
  • Dehydrated skin
  • Overall unhealthy skin, texture and tone
PRP in the syringe
PRP is an extract of your own blood that contains three to five times more platelets, growth factors, and active proteins for tissue and injury healing.  In our own practice we have successfully used PRP with individuals and athletes to accelerate wound healing; repair tendon, ligament and joint damage; and help regrow muscle and bone.  When PRP is placed back in the skin by injection or mico-needling, it initiates a localized stem cell response.  Over the weeks and months following treatment, this stem cell response recruits collagen-producing cells called fibroblasts.  The fibroblasts replaced damaged skin with healthy skin to give a refreshed and youthful look.

PRP being injected into the patient's face
Within a few weeks of treatment, an overall improvement in hydration, texture and tone can be noticeable.  The effects of cosmetic PRP can last twelve months to two years depending on lifestyle (i.e. sun exposure, lifestyle, eating habits, etc.).

Patient going in the Hyperbaric Chamber for an hour
Two things we add with our PRP treatment we feel benefits our patients and expedites the healing capacity of the results.  Once the procedure is done we put a cooling mask on the patient and place the patient in the Hyperbaric Chamber for one hour.  The link to the previous blogpost on the Hyperbaric Chamber addresses the benefits of the hyperbaric chamber for athletes in expediting healing and recovery.   Secondly, we give our patients VitaliTrek Multi-Cream when they get out of the hyperbaric chamber.  The VitaliTrek Multi-Cream is an All-Natural product rich in growth factors and promotes healing and tissue repair, and can be used daily or as needed.

Post PRP Facial, minimal swelling
The pictures in this blog are of our 58 year old patient who recently got the PRP Facial followed by one hour of the Hyperbaric Chamber.  As you can see in the pictures the swelling was kept to a minimum after the procedure.  Our patient remarked that the face continued to get tighter and more youthful in the following weeks, with peak results obtained around week four.  Our patient was extremely happy with the procedure.

Why should someone use PRP over Botox?  The main thing is Botox is a synthetic chemical, whereas PRP is using the patient's own blood, thus the body will not consider it a foreign substance in comparison to Botox.  If someone is looking for immediate results PRP is not the right solution.  But if someone wants a natural, longer lasting solution, then a PRP Facial is a viable alternative to Botox.

4 Weeks after PRP, Patient very happy with results
For more information on the PRP Facial for anyone wanting a natural solution for a more youthful appearance feel free to call us in Bradenton (941) 448-1199. You can also reach us on our website at www.rejuvenate-you.org or via email at info@rejuvenate-you.org

RejuvenateYou K-9 Revive, All-Natural Supplement for Dogs and Cats dealing with Arthritis and Low Energy

In today's society, pets have become and integral part of the family structure. Because of the importance of pets, owners have become very conscientious about the health and quality of life of those pets. With the average person far outliving their pets, the want for health and longevity of the family pet is certainly understandable.

Cover Boys: Marco (14 Year Old) & Babu (13.5 Year Old).
In North America, millions of pets suffer from chronic arthritis and other aging diseases. The vast array of conventional drugs used to treat these conditions often has serious and even fatal side effects. Because of these side effects, animal health care providers are continually seeking quality alternative treatments. In Gallup, New Mexico, velvet antler, which has no known side effects, has had remarkable results on almost 80% of the 200 animals with clinical arthritis.

In addition to regenerative effects on joint cartilage and joint fluid, velvet antler also has a positive effect on the immune system. This boost often creates a feeling of well being, which affects the appetite and attitude of animals under treatment.

Why does velvet antler work better than some single nutrient natural products on the market? The combination of nutrients available in velvet antler provides a synergistic effect. The result of combining efforts of many nutrients shows a much greater gain than the effort of a single nutrient. Some of the positive effects of velvet antler in animals are:
  • Improved hair coat.
  • Improved kidney function.
  • Increased reproductive performance.
  • Accelerated wound healing.
All are important issues for pets from young to old. Average daily cost for an owner to supplement his/her pet with velvet antler only costs a few cents. Work is currently underway to study effectiveness of velvet antler in young animals of breeds that have a high incidence of hip dysplasia. Hip dysplasia is an inherited disease of the hip and elbow joints. The joints begin deteriorating early in life, leading to severe pain and loss of function. Some breeds, such as the German Shepherd and Labrador, have a greater risk than smaller breeds. Velvet antler appears to slow the progression of the disease and increases the animal's quality of life. There is also some indication that velvet antler's use in puppies promotes bone and muscle growth. With athletic animals, velvet antler is useful in speeding up muscle recovery and preventing soreness after hard workouts. In horses, positive effects are being noted in muscular-skeletal conditions, hoof and hair growth, and wound healing.

I can personally tout the benefits as I use it on my two Standard Poodles who are 14 years old and 13.5 years old respectively.  My 14 year old Marco was starting to deal with arthritis issues, and I noticed his mobility had decreased.  Moreover, when Marco would chase after the ball his right hip would give out, and he would sit down.  I had been seeing the benefits of Velvet Elk Antler for my own personal use and with our clients, so I started the search to find a product for my dog.  I found this All-Natural Elk Powder (50/50 Mix of Velvet Elk Antler and Liver) and started giving him two spoonfuls during feeding.  Within 3 days I noticed an increase in energy, more alertness, and I was seeing more strength in his hip.  I would have the dogs play with the tennis ball and I was blown away how much energy Marco had AND the fact his hip was not giving out and it was much stronger.  My dogs have been on K-9 Revive ever since and will not be off of it for the rest of their lives.

Because of how much success my dogs have had with it I was able to influence John and Pattie to give it to their 8 year old dog Ruby.  In this video you get to hear their own words the improvement that K9 Revive has had with Ruby's daily activities:

K9 Revive comes in a 2.5 ounce container or 12 ounce container.  Simply use 1 tsp per every 20 pounds of weight of your pet.  One container will last a month for a typical 50 pound dog (fed once a day).  Do not let the name fool you, as the K9 Revive can also be used for your Cat!  Can be stored in a cool dry place. Cost is $49.95 per container.

Velvet antler is not a cure-all, but it can definitely improve the quality of life for an animal and it’s a safe all-natural product, renewable resource that every pet owner should consider.

RejuvenateYou presents Myron Talbert, 60 Pound Weight Loss Success Story

We have seen tremendous success at RejuvenateYou working with individuals who want to lose weight, and do it naturally.  Helping anyone change their life for the better is very rewarding.  Recently, I had the opportunity to help a childhood friend who I have known for over 30+ years.  Myron Talbert, is a 47 year old male who lives in Charlotte, NC.  Myron and his family grew up down the street from our family, and the Talberts were a second family to my brother and myself.  Myron was muscular and athletic.  He  went on to play football at Elon College.  I never thought of Myron as overweight, I just thought he was a big, muscular guy. Myron decided he wanted to change his shape and overall health as he turned 40.  His transformation is impressive to say the least.  When a guy loses 60 pounds by eating properly, changing lifestyle behaviors, and keeping off the weight, this in itself is a story that must be told!

Tell us about your history as an athlete (i.e. your weight playing football, and where you were after your playing days as you got into your 40s).

I weighed 11 lbs when I was born (thanks mom) and have always been a big kid. By the time I was in high school playing football and lifting, my weight increased from 198 to 240 when I graduated. That summer, preparing for Elon football I was at 250.  My weight after college would fluctuate between 225 -240, reaching a high at 268. A little over a year ago when I decided to make some changes, I started the process weighing 254.

Was there a particular event or reason that motivated you to want to lose some weight?

Several.  Most importantly, was my health.  I was experiencing digestion issues.  I was tested for Celiac Disease and results were negative.  Hold that thought for later.  Also, when I asked my internist if I was lactose intolerant, his response was, ”If your stomach bothers you after eating dairy, then yes, I guess you are".  (It’s a good thing my insurance covered that advanced medical diagnosis).

High blood pressure runs in my family and I was no exception.  I was put on medication first in the late ‘90’s and then again in 2009.  I bought a blood pressure monitor wand, I would check it regularly, but did not see much change, even on the medication.

My sleep was interrupted nightly with apnea, to the point where it went from a joke to a concern.  How to address it?  Either lose some weight or wear the Darth Vader looking mask which I felt confident would not make it 5 minutes before it was tossed across the room.  I woke up tired and earlier than I wanted, and it affected my productivity during the day.  I was always dragging by early afternoon.

I’m not vain or hip enough to be concerned with a GQ look but it was a challenge for me to feel comfortable in clothes, especially business attire for work.  Not to mention if I did find something I liked, I could only hope it was available in XXL.

You had tremendous success going from 254 pounds to 225 pounds.  First question is how did you lose almost 30 pounds?

Exercise. I was hitting the gym 4 -5 days/week and some days twice. Each time I have consciously tried to lose weight, I have done so with a strong cardio routine.  I ran a few 5Ks and did fine, but I always felt stress on my knees afterwards.  A few years of football and a few extra pounds will do that.  I started biking more and started every workout with 25-30 minutes on the elliptical machine.  I did cut back on certain bad foods and was eating better as well. Gave up ice cream…it was no coincidence Ben & Jerry’s stock dropped!

October 13, Weighing 223 pounds
Most people would consider losing 30 pounds very successful.  Why did you feel like that there was more weight to lose?

I was very pleased with the initial weight loss, but I felt confident that I could lose more weight.  I have been at least 225 for over 30 years, was eating better and staying active.  In the back of my mind I wanted to get better results, and I had momentum, so I kept raising the bar.

What prompted you to reach out to RejuvenateYou and try our Weight Loss Program and RejuvenateYou Metabolic Enhancer drops?

As stated above I had the motivation, but my weight loss had plateaued.  I went 4 weeks and could not lose anymore weight.  I even increased my cardio routine.  Nothing.  I began to accept the fact that this would be my ‘normal’ weight.  I had noticed the success and testimonials from others on the RejuvenateYou Facebook page, and noticed you repeatedly spoke of ‘eating Paleo clean’.  I had heard of the Paleo ‘diet’ before but thought I was already eating right. Additionally, after 30 plus years lifting in some capacity, I was skeptical of most supplements since I had tried numerous in the past and never noticed any changes, except maybe jittery energy. But once I read the ingredients of the Metabolic Enhancer and learned the supplements were all natural, I definitely wanted to give the product a try.  There is also something to be said for being able to read and understand every ingredient.

When did you start to notice and feel a difference?

Immediately. Removing grains, dairy, processed food and sugar concerned me a little, simply because I did not think I could be diligent with my eating.  I travel often with my job and eating clean on the road, with limited time, seemed impossible. But as I started eating clean and taking the Metabolic Enhancer, my weight began to drop. At first, I noticed that after 1 week, I was not craving anything that had been removed from my diet…and was not hungry between meals. I was eating less than before, but could still enjoy a good meal.  The meal just needed to be thought out a little differently.  In addition, my digestion improved noticeably by removing dairy and grains.  If you remember, I had tested negative for Celiac’s, but quickly realized that grains and dairy had been the culprit, or at least heavily contributed to my digestion issues.  Over the past few months, if I was at a nice dinner and warm, tasty dinner rolls or bread were presented and I tried them, within 10 minutes, I would have indigestion. This fully convinced me that my body was rejecting and did not want or need bread. During my initial weight loss, prior to eating clean and the Metabolic Enhancer, I was still experiencing stomach issues. I was eating ‘sugar free’ grain breads and ‘fat free’ dairy (cheese), thinking I was eating healthy when actually those foods, regardless of what they were ‘free’ of, they were causing havoc on my body,   It was not difficult to see that once these foods were eliminated, I felt better because of improved health, and the weight continued to fall off.

I began to notice muscle definition that had been hidden by fat, especially in my stomach and upper body. I had incorporated a heavy abdominal workout for months and began to think it was in vain because after much frustration, my love handles did not budge.  However, it did change, and although I will never have six pack abs, I could begin to see the definition and love handles melt.  Also with the weight loss, my neck and face became thinner, I stopped snoring and the Sleep Apnea mentioned above ceased.  I was sleeping better and feeling better. I had changed physicians and the new one was more in tune with what I was doing.  After two successful visits, each with more weight loss, my blood pressure was normal.  I realize I looked and felt better, but normalizing my blood pressure is my biggest accomplishment after starting this journey.  I do not like taking medications, and after years in medical sales, I have seen both the positives and negatives in pharmaceuticals.  I decided if I can do it naturally, that would be my first option.

The increased energy is hard to explain simply because I have experienced numerous "diet supplements" which contained ingredients I could not pronounce. Most of these "diet supplements" would make me feel jittery after taking them. My improved energy was better measured when working out. I noticed less recovery between sets and not being completely exhausted after my daily routine(s). Additionally, I did not drag in the afternoon which I had experienced frequently prior to using the Metabolic Enhancer.

You have completely overhauled your eating habits.  Most people assume this is a "diet" and not a "lifestyle" change.  Can you talk about how you are different now as far as energy, mood, and how your body reacts to foods you used to eat regularly in the past.

I went into this change thinking diet, but in reality it was a lifestyle change. Maybe dramatic to some, and not others, but for the first time in my life I was in tune with my body. This may sound corny, but due to eating clean, I could pinpoint what if anything reacted with my body. I realize everyone is different and the human body is amazingly adaptable…you can eat poorly and eventually your body will allow or maybe accept it and the negative results may not be as noticeable. For me, it was measured…my digestion is the best it’s been since college when a 2 AM visit to Waffle House (covered, smothered and chunked) did not bother me at all…until 20+ years later.  Also, I previously mentioned how hard it is to eat clean on the road…which is a cop out. It may be easier to eat a burger or fast food but it’s not hard to eat clean. I was running late a few months back and stopped for a sausage biscuit. I knew that the bread may cause indigestion but I ate it anyway. The biscuit started to feel like cement in my mouth…with every bite. So I removed the sausage and ate that alone thinking I’d be OK. Now understand, I cook and eat meats from the approved list and that includes occasional pork.  But the greasy film I had in my mouth after eating the fast food version almost made me sick.  Not going to name the chain because at this point, I have no faith in any fast food chains.  Fast food chains really do not care about me and my health.  If and when I decide to have another sausage biscuit, it will be made at home.

You leaned out to an impressive weight of 194 pounds by eating properly and taking the RejuvenateYou Metabolic Enhancer.  Now you are starting the RejuvenateYou Nutritional Support 15 to build muscle and decrease recovery time.  I know it's been a little over a week, but what have you noticed on this supplement thus far?
April 15, Weighing 194 pounds

Yes. I had changed my routine when I was leaning down with less strenuous lifting and focused on core exercises and cardio. I knew I would lose some strength, but felt I could build those levels back. After the positive results with the Metabolic Enhancer, I trusted the Nutritional Supplement would work, but was still a little skeptical if it could be measured as well. I started noticing a difference on day 3 when I was lifting. I was finishing my sets aggressively and realized I needed to increase my lifting weight. Anytime in the past if I had gone lighter lifting or simply not at all, the process of getting back to the ‘normal’ weight I wanted to lift took time. Now understand, I’m not going nuts in the gym…I incorporate more machines than free weights, but my workouts are aggressive and as such require recovery between sets/exercises. I saw this immediately…my body wanted the next set versus dreading it and I felt accomplished when finished.  I have notice some changes in my arms and chest, definitely more defined and better shaped. I am not looking to get huge, but I do want to build some muscle, stay in shape and look and feel better. So far, I have noticed all but the looking better…the drops do nothing for my mug. I take that back, my face is thinner…but still not any better looking!  I expect to gain some weight through muscle growth, but the leaning down process I experienced gives me the best opportunity to measure the Nutritional Support's benefits.

Can you give us some of your measurements from where you started to where you finished?

I did want to add my measurements, because there is no hiding what you see on the scale.  You suggested that I should not focus on the scale, so I did not live or die by the numbers. I was still building muscle using the Metabolic Enhancer, so I could not get frustrated when I did not see the aggressive weight loss I experienced in the beginning.  My old wardrobe is completely gone…which is a good thing and I am proud of the changes.

Beginning Numbers                                  3 Months after ME
Weight                       254                                           194
Neck                          18 ½                                         17
Waist                         41                                             34
Chest (suit jacket)        50                                             44
Shirt                          XXL                                            L

What stood out to you about the weight loss program at RejuvenateYou?

I think it’s very important to add what you bring to this, Dini. Your continued and tireless support, consistent follow-up, and reinforcement made frustrating days/workouts better when I did not see a change I was expecting.  You are in Florida and I am in North Carolina, yet I felt like I had a trainer with me constantly…that motivation, even from that distance kept me positive and engaged.  For that I thank you.

What would you tell anyone who has struggled to lose weight that wants to have the same level of success that you have achieved?

I want to reiterate that my success is not attributed to one thing, but the combination of eating clean, moderate exercise (nothing crazy), and the RejuvenateYou Metabolic Enhancer drops. This is not a get quick ‘diet’, and I have really worked at it to get where I am now. But at 47, my overall health has improved for the better, I feel healthier, and now I realize and understand what I need to do to in order to maintain this type of healthy lifestyle.

Myron has had an amazing transformation.  The resounding theme we see with anyone losing weight is based off changing their eating habits and lifestyle behaviors in order to have long-term success.  Losing weight is not a sprint, it is a marathon!

RejuvenateYou presents Ozone Steam Sauna Therapy to Detoxify the Body and Cleanse the Skin

Our patient Will getting his first Ozone Sauna Session
Here at RejuvenateYou we have the luxury of having access to Dr. Rucker and many of his ideas.  Our newest toy look like something out of the "Jetsons". The Longevity Resources Hyperthermic Chamber Steam Sauna Cabinet is our newest weapon to get our patients healthy.

The main use of an ozone sauna is to detoxify the body. The sauna increases the eliminative, detoxifying and cleansing capacity of the skin by stimulation of the sweat glands and also promotes healthy skin tone and texture due to increased blood circulation.

We are big advocates of ozone in our medical practice, because ozone brings oxygen to the tissues for advanced healing and vitality.  By artificially inducing hyperthermia (rising temperature results in the destruction of bacteria and viruses), combined with heavy sweating and a cleansing effect initated by ozone, toxins accumulated in the lymphatic system are eliminated.  Humid heat opens the pores, which allows the ozone through the skin to the bloodstream, where it can travel to the fat and lymph tissue. It is very important to cleanse the lymph tissue of toxins and the ozone/steam sauna is the easiest and best way to accomplish this.  This relieves the liver from the task of excreting these toxins.  The combination of moist heat and ozone cleanse the lymphatic system, which carries 90% of the body's fluids.

Some of the benefits of the Ozone Sauna Therapy:
  • Relaxes and loosens muscles by reducing the buildup of lactic acid, increases flexibility.
  • Oxidizes toxins so they can be eliminated through the skin, lungs, kidneys and colon.
  • Boosts blood circulation, helping injured muscles to repair quicker.
  • Stimulates vasodilatation of peripheral blood vessels relieving pain and speeding the healing process.
  • Eliminates bacterial and viral infections of all kinds.
  • Speeds up the metabolic processes of the inner organs and endocrine glands resulting in a loss of 200-450 calories in a 20 minute session.
Newest research shows steam hyperthermia is an effective treatment for:
Amy relaxing and getting healthy in the Ozone Sauna

  • Detoxification programs
  • Immune system deficiencies
  • Pain management
  • Cancer
  • Arthritis
  • Stress and muscle tension
  • Increasing body metabolism
  • Elimination of toxins
  • Blood circulation
The first session can last 30 minutes depending on your experience level.  As the ozone steam sauna treatment begins to work in the body, you may experience a detoxification process known as the “healing crisis”.  The detoxification may take the form of a headache, nausea, lack of energy, running nose etc. After this brief period you will feel more energetic, with a higher level of vitality and well-being than you have felt for years.  Just keep on with the sessions and your health and wellness will improve.    As a maintenance program for healthy skin, stimulation of the body's immune system function, and to maintain higher levels of oxygen in the bloodstream, ozone sauna therapy should be done one to three times per week for between 20 to 30 minutes per session.

Our packages start at $50 for 30 minute session, package prices available as well.  The Ozone Sauna is an impressive machine that can be used with our patients for general health and well-being, healthy skin tone, weight loss, or athletic performance to name a few.  It also is a perfect adjunct to combine with the Hyperbaric Chamber.

Weight Loss with RejuvenateYou Metabolic Enhancer, Week 14 through Week 20

RejuvenateYou Metabolic Enhancer
This is an update on the progress of a patient of ours who has started taking our RejuvenateYou Metabolic Enhancer along with changing his diet.  Our patient is a 44 year old male who works out regularly (about 4-5 times a week), but has he has seen his weight slowly creep up.  He was weighing right at 161 pounds and his clothes were fitting too tight, along with the fact he never gets a good night sleep.  I suggested to our patient that he take our RejuvenateYou Metabolic Enhancer Drops along with modifying his diet to follow our "Approved Foods" list and a Paleo Diet.  This is his progress report from weeks eight through thirteen:

Update for 1-4-2014

This week’s weigh in, 148.2 for a weight loss of 1.2 Lbs.

I’m happy with the weight loss.  Even with New Years I was able to stay on my diet but I did not exercise at all.  So all things considered I am very happy with the weight loss for the week.  My target weight goal is 140 pounds and the more weight you lose the slower the weight loss is.  The reason is, as you lose weight the body becomes more efficient and has less spare fat to work with.

Next week I plan on doing my best to stay on the diet and finally get back to working out.  So we will see if I can lose a bit more weight.

Special update for 1-8-2014

The plan for this week has been disrupted.  Yesterday due to freezing weather a pipe in an apartment above mine broke and ran water for about 3 hours before it was discovered, resulting in my apartment being flooded.  So I am a hotel refugee for an indeterminate amount of time.  I do not have access to a kitchen or any way to prepare or store food.  So this week’s experiment is to see what happens to a person who was on a very strict diet, who suddenly goes off it and starts eating processed/restaurant food.  Saturday I will give my weight gain update as well as any changes in my blood pressure.

For a start date and time of this experiment I will say 6:30 PM January 7, 2014.  That is when I went to my first buffet dinner at the hotel.  Also, since it is free I will be consuming 2 alcoholic beverages an evening.  All of the food and alcohol comes with the room so I might as well make the best of a bad situation!

Saturday update 1-11-2014

I was not able to do an official weigh in this week because my scales are in my apartment.  I am living in a hotel right now while the repair people get the flood water out and begin repairs.  But I have roughly gained 3 pounds since Tuesday.

At first I thought the experiment of abruptly going from a Paleo diet to an average fast/junk food diet would be fun, but I have changed my mind quickly.  After a couple days all the food started tasting the same: Mexican, burgers, chicken, breakfast, lunch, it did not matter.  Then the messed up digestion kicked in, then (I’m not kidding) organs like spleen and kidneys started hurting.  I like a small amount of salt on food that needs it but I was not ready for the food shaped salt I got from the fast food places!

I realize I am in the middle of an emergency situation with my apartment and at some point things will return to normal, but I have decided that this crap food experiment is over.  I do not know how or if it is even possible, but somehow I am going to get back on a proper eating program.  At the least a diet that is not going to kill me!

Sorry for not being positive, but as for next week, I do not have a plan or the slightest idea how it is going to work out.  All I can say is, most likely I will be doing a update.

Sunday update for 1-19 2014

Weigh in, 148.8 for a weight gain of 0.6 Lbs.

This is the first official weigh in I have been able to do in two weeks and I am surprised at how little weight I gained.  Doing the mirror check I was certain I had gained three or four pounds. That just goes to show sometimes what you weigh might be different than what you think you weigh, and why it is good to use both the scales and the mirror.

My short experiment with eating average food, besides being salty and tasteless, showed me that being on a high carbohydrate diet makes you puff up.  Literally you (at least me personally) started looking like the Pillsbury Doughboy.

The diet this week has been on and off.  I was not able to return to my apartment until Wednesday, at which time I immediately went back to eating right.  I think that did a lot to keep me from gaining too much weight, or at least started me back on weight loss.  However on Saturday my place got flooded AGAIN, resulting in me being back in a hotel eating bad food for who knows how many more days.  But this time I have a room with a refrigerator so I should be able to keep some semblance of a decent diet going.

I have some pretty hard goals set for myself this week.  I am going to get back to running my business.  Having no money has definite vacuum properties!  I am going to try to keep eating properly. I am going to try to work out at least three times this week.  I am not expecting any amazing results from any of these goals, but if I can just function through them I will consider it a success.

Looking back one thing I am really happy about is the fact I decided I was healed and quit taking the cholesterol medication.  With all the things I have had to do/endure the last two weeks, if I had still been on the meds (which totally drained me of any energy), I would have been in real trouble.

Update for 1-25-2014

Weigh in was 148 Lbs. for a weight loss of 0.8 Lbs.

Given the circumstances of the last week I am very happy that I was able to lose weight.  After all the flooding, hotels, and bad food I finally got back to my apartment last Monday.  I immediately went back to eating a clean diet and was able to make it to the gym twice.  Thinking about my goals from last week I feel that I did accomplish them.  Not as thoroughly as I had hoped but I got back into the grove of things and I am moving forward.

I will take time this weekend to reevaluate the time frame of my weight loss goals since I essentially lost the month of Jan.  Next week I plan on experimenting with intermediate fasting and I will let you know how that goes.

Update for 2-1-2014

Weigh in was 150.6 lbs. for a weight gain of 2.6 lbs.

The big change for this week was, for the first time since the end of September, I completed a solid week of working out.  I know from personal experience that your body reverses muscle loss quickly so most of the weight change was caused by my body getting the muscles back used to working out.

I do have to say that with a week’s worth of working out after a four month break, every single part of my body hurts.  It’s a good hurt but still it hurts and I am sore as can be.  Next week things should be a lot easier.

However my diet was not that good this week and I did cheat a couple times.  Using the mirror check I think I added a very small amount of body fat but a lot more muscle.  Now that all the disasters of January are behind me I have decided to re-re-start the Paleo challenge.

The goal I am setting for myself is to get my total body weight down to 140 lbs on or before March 31. I am going to a very simple Paleo diet and stick to foods that I know are safe.  Basically since February and March are cold and dark, I am going stay in and work on myself.

Update for 2-8-2014

Weigh in 149.4 Lbs, for a weight loss of 1.2 Lbs.

I am a little disappointed because I was expecting a little more weight loss but as long as the scales are going down who really cares!  Actually, since I re-re-started the Paleo diet last Sunday my body really did not start losing weight till about Wednesday.  Also I did not work out last week because I was not feeling well.

Next week I will keep on the diet and try to make it to the gym.

Saturday update 2-15-2014

Weigh in at 147.4 Lbs, for a weight loss of 2 Lbs.

Wow, I am impressed!!  I did not think I was going to lose that much weight, but as usual, if the scales are going down I will take what I can get.  Although I think some of the weight loss was from muscle atrophy.

This week was a little bit different because of the weather.  I was snowed in from Wednesday morning till Friday afternoon, so I did not get to the gym.  BUT it is really easy to stick to your diet when the only food available to you is what is in your fridge.  Lucky for me I was well stocked on only Paleo food.  Being Saturday and I can leave my house I might have a small steak for dinner tonight.

The plan for next week is to (weather permitting) do a standard five days of working out and still stay on the diet.  Thursday there is a planned dinner with friends so I will have a cheat day next week.

Till next week’s update…

My thoughts on this update from weeks 14 through 20:

The main thing anyone should take from this post is PERSEVERANCE!  Look at all the hurdles and roadblocks our patient had to overcome.  He had to leave his residence TWICE because of pipes bursting.  The last thing on his mind is sticking to a lifestyle of eating clean when dealing with that stress.  He was not able to get in a consistent workout routine with all the turmoil going on.  But one thing that stayed consistent is he did not deviate from his eating lifestyle too much.  In fact, when he did eat that processed garbage his stomach did not approve.  Sometimes it is good to eat like you used to, because you will realize how awful you feel, and it will only reiterate the fact that eating clean makes you feel and look better.

Our patient started at 161 pounds and was not losing any weight prior to starting our RejuvenateYou Metabolic Enhancer Drops and following my "Approved Foods List".  Now he weighs 147.4 pounds and he wants to get down to 140 pounds.  That was probably unthinkable 20 weeks ago, but he has retrained his brain!  He has done a great job and slow and steady wins the race!
