These shakes can be used really anytime during the day. Just a matter of your particular preference. I personally like Jay Robb Whey Protein because it is clean and they use farm-raised, pasture-grazed, grass-fed cows not treated with the synthetic bovine growth hormone rBGH.  The other reason I like Jay Robb Whey Protein is because they use No Artificial Sweeteners and there is only 1 Carb per Scoop which is ideal for me.  To each their own, and use a protein powder that you like and will use regularly.

Gina Parrish Weight Loss Story

Meet Gina Parrish.  She is a lovely 45 year old woman who has been married to her husband Reverend Jerry Parrish (and he's not so bad either) for 26 years.  After having kids over the years it became harder for her to lose the excess weight, which eventually affected her state of mind and well being.  Gina decided to tackle weight loss and fitness head on and she has become an inspiration to her family, friends, and colleagues.  I wanted to sit down with Gina and hear her story in more detail so she can inspire others.

Q: How long had you been struggling with weight?

Gina: I had my last child when I was 19 years old.  I had lost weight with ease with my previous pregnancy, but after my youngest was born the weight just slowly started increasing.  I am now 45 years old (too long.)

Q: What diets or fitness routines had you tried before?

Gina:  I think all of them including the Fen-Phen diet. I was really scared after that diet due to the heart palpitations and just UNHEALTHY feeling.

Q: Prior to working with Dr. Rucker what other option(s) were you considering?

Gina: I was actually signed up for the Lap Band Surgery and going through the steps for my insurance.

Q: What made you reach out to Dr. Rucker to try the HCG Diet?

Gina: I had seen Dr. Oz cover it on his show and was impressed by the results.  I thought it was probably too good to be true:)  I saw a friend of mine on Facebook who had put on a lot of weight.  I watched his progress secretly to see if it would work.  I was AMAZED at his weight-loss and how healthy he looked and felt doing it.  Most of the people I had seen doing the Lap Band Surgery just looked like they were sick all the time.  I noticed HAIR-LOSS as well, and for a female that is a hard look to pull off.

Q: When did you or your friends/colleagues/family start to notice a difference?

Gina: After the first month:)  I lost about 30 pounds the first month.

Q: Have you noticed a difference with any aches and pains or sleeping patterns as you have lost the weight?

Gina: Oh My Gosh!!!  That was really as significant as the weight loss.  I had never slept through the night and the first week on HCG I slept like a baby.  I also noticed a difference in my skin (not to sound vain) but my skin looks younger and smoother.  I was afraid of the skin factor with the rapid weight-loss, but the HCG has actually helped my skin.  I was also having HORRIBLE aches and pains prior to HCG.  I would have to sit on the side of my bed in the morning before I could put any weight on my feet, because they felt like fire.  I bounce out of bed now:)

Q: What was your weight when you started and what is your current weight now?

Gina: I weighed 333 pounds prior to starting HCG, and now I weigh 247 pounds.  I still have a lot to go, but I am on my way DOWN!!!  BTW I walk in the evenings with guys in shape  (my hubby and his friend).  I giggle the whole time, because I am in front (out walking them) and I can hear them panting like they are gonna die:)  It feels pretty great!!

Q: What is your goal now that you have lost all this weight?

Gina: I want to continue to lose ALL my excess weight.  My main goal is to do all the things that I could never do!!!  I just went to Disney World with my two grown daughters and their families .... no one had to wait for POOR MOM :0)  I didn't tell anyone, but I was full of so much joy.  At one point, and of course Cinderella's castle was right in front of me, I cried a little bit.  I wasn't a burden to my family!!  They never have made me feel that way, but I did feel that way.  I also want to do a Disney 1/2 marathon in the near future:)  FISHING is my first LOVE and now I can fit behind the steering wheel of the boat to drive again!!!  YAY!!

Q: What would be your advice to anyone who struggles with their weight and wants to find a way to overcome their hurdles?

Gina: Don't let fear or money stop you from being free from the fat suit (I always looked for zippers).  I would plead with you to invest in yourself.  You are worth it and you CAN DO IT!!  Dr. Rucker and his team are the most compassionate, helpful, encouraging, and informed when it comes to teaming up with you on your journey.  I have heard people say "I can't do 500 calories a day" and I just say to them " You can with HCG."  When you start seeing the pounds MELT away ..... well how EXCITING IS THAT!!!  You will have some plateaus.  I am having one now ....but that's when Dr. Rucker and his team will teach you some little tricks..... like STEAK DAY/APPLE DAY....... Really the food you eat on this is what the body wants and needs anyway (not the other junk).   With all the fat our bodies have stored you're getting more than 500 calories a day ..... 500 by mouth ..... then your body will take what it needs from its "Fat Stores".  VIOLA!!!  Start today ....NOT TOMORROW... we know it never comes ...Happy 2013 and make it a HEALTHY NEW YOU YEAR!!!!!!  I just cant type enough about the wonderful HCG!!!  Thank You Dr. Rucker and Team!!!  You are the BEST!!!<3

Thank You Gina for being so candid and allowing us to join you on this ride.  You are a true inspiration to many people and your journey is just getting started!  Much continued success.

Paleo Shrimp and Scallops with Kelp Noodles

Greetings to all my friends and followers....or follower if you will!  We have gone thru many changes with our new company at RejuvenateYou and I haven't had a chance to showcase any of our Paleo friendly dishes.  But finally I got some time to get various things in order, and one was working on our new website and the Blog.  So let's get moving to my newest creation.

Shrimp and Scallops with Kelp Noodles

1 pound Large Shrimp
1/2 pound Scallops
1 Large Onion
2 Tomatoes
2 tbsp Garlic
Salt & Pepper for taste
1/4 cup White Wine
1 Lemon
2 tbsp Coconut Oil
1 Package Kelp Noodles

Clean and devein the shrimp if you so choose and set aside.  Heat up the saute pan with 2 tbsp of coconut oil over medium heat and add the large onion, tomatoes, garlic, salt/pepper and sautee for about 5-7 minutes.  Add the shrimp and scallops and cook for about 5 minutes.  Combine 1/4 cup White Wine, 1/4 cup Water, and 1 Lemon (Squeeze).  Bring to a boil and let simmer and cook for another 5-7 minutes until shrimp are done.

The Kelp Noodles are VERY difficult to make so get ready to take notes.  You open the package, rinse...and you are DONE!  Made only of Kelp, fat-free, gluten-free and very low in carbohydrates and calories.  I got this from our friends over at Richard's Food Emporium and they are fantastic!

When the shrimp and scallops were done I combined it with my Kelp Noodles and dinner was served.  I also added Cayenne Pepper to my dish but not everyone likes spicy food.  Very easy to make and it was delicious.  Just make sure you don't overcook the shrimp and scallops.

Until next time.  Eat Healthy and Be Well!
